Overview
Ferrari put a V6 behind the cabin and then made it the most interesting engine in the company. The 296 GTB is a plug-in only in the brochure; on the road it is a 830-horsepower mid-engine berlinetta that happens to idle in silence on a Thursday.

The V6 sings in a register the V8 never found. Electric fill-in erases turbo lag so completely you forget the word. It is lighter, sharper, and less grand than a Roma — a tool, not a lounge.

Design
Flavio Manzoni’s smallest recent Ferrari, and the one with the cleanest air. A flying buttress that is actually a buttress, a cabin that sits in the haunches, and a rear that looks like a racing car in a suit.
